There is no better way to celebrate the completion of your baby’s first year than with a Cake Smash session. A Cake smash session is more than just a portrait session-it’s a fun experience!

As a professional cake smash photographer in the greater Piedmont Triad, I will design a birthday photo session to show your baby’s blooming personality. There is a wide selection of adorable outfits to choose from and a custom decorated cake will be delivered to the studio in time for the session. So just show up and have fun!

Scheduling

I recommend booking Cake smash sessions 4-6 weeks prior to the actual birthday to ensure the final images can be delivered before your little one’s big day. For custom backgrounds, it is optimal to book 8-10 weeks in advance to allow time to create the set-ups for your custom theme.

Location

The cake smash session will be held in my home studio in Lewisville, NC. Outfits, props and a decorated cake can be provided by the studio to match the theme, without an additional charge.

My home studio is located in Lewisville, NC. It is approximately a 10-minutes drive from Winston-Salem, NC.

I recommend booking Cake smash sessions 4-6 weeks prior to the actual birthday.

For custom backgrounds, it is optimal to book 8-10 weeks in advance to allow time to create the set-ups for your custom theme.

I am always investing in themed backdrops for first birthday and cake smash sessions, so make sure to check my collection often! If you do have a customized theme preference that I don’t currently have, I will be happy to look for and purchase the theme per your request with customization fee of $120.

The cake smash package includes one theme-matching decorated cake from a professional baker. If you choose to bring your own cake to the session, we will deduct $25 from your package cost.

If your baby has any dietary needs such as food allergies, bringing your own cake will be required.

Due to the nature of the handmade items, some outfits with delicate features such as velvet, lace, embroidery, etc. are not available during the messy shots but are available for the baby’s clean shots section. You can always change to a “mess-friendly” outfit for the cake smash.

Please bring your own cake topper!

Cake toppers can be theme specific and usually cannot be reused after each session. So please kindly bring your own. You can find them on Etsy or Amazon.

The size of the backdrops are optimized to perfectly fit your baby, they are not large enough to include adults. Therefore, cake smash sessions are for the baby only.

Jill did a fantastic job. So much patience and clearly extensive experience shooting little newborns. Her studio is the perfect set up. My little one was difficult to calm at first but she was able to lull him to sleep for some amazing shots! Will definitely use her again in the future!
