Triad family photographer | Family session at Tanglewood Park
The fall season is one of the most beautiful times in Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, NC, with the dreamy backlighting, cloudless sky, and crisp air. I love the open field in the horse stable, and the friendly horses in the background. It made the perfect backdrop for this family session.
Katie’s baby was my newborn client one year ago. Today we got to celebrate her boy’s 1st birthday with family session at the horse stable in Tanglewood Park.
Wait, there was more. One BIG surprise at the end of our session! A happy surprise that brought all of us happy tears. Read along and find out!
The front of the horse barn is my go-to spot to start the session. I love the sun rays peeking through the trees and falling onto everyone’s hair line, which provides beautiful backlit images.
Heading towards the back of the barn, there is a wider open field with more sunshine. A winding road leads to the horse enclosures in the back of the field. I love to see mom and dad holding hands, with their little one in their arms, walking down the road.
Isn’t he the cutest? I love to bring my studio props to the outdoor sessions for babies to sit in. I still remember he was soundly sleeping in the bassinet when he was just a little newborn baby in my studio. How time flies by, he has become a big 1-year-old!
As the golden sun began its descent on the horizon, the big surprise was about to be revealed. Dad had meticulously planned this special moment, a marriage proposal. He mentioned his big plan to me before the session and I was completely on board to have this moment forever preserved in their photos.
While she turned the other way, he knelt on one knee with a small red box in his hand. With me quietly stepping to the side to be ready for this moment, he opened the box to reveal a diamond ring! As soon as she turned around to see him, tears came out of her eyes as she was overwhelmed with this surprise. Her voice caught in her throat for that moment as she cried and nodded, saying “Yes!” which was followed by their tightest embrace and the most passionate kiss. They are engaged!!! I felt so fortunate to be able to capture this unforgettable moment.
What a moment!!
This heartfelt proposal brought our family session to the perfect ending. This is one of the most magical session I have ever shot!
